The Lego Batman Movie Release Date

The Lego Batman Movie release date announced on 10 February 2017. Very stereotypical with classical villains meant to stay dead but reawakened as a Lego brick, making it easier to dismantle them for good by daring superheroes builders!  This is the Lego movie based off the game and I've got to say, it surprised me. The plot is insanely ridiculous but lovable; Lex Luthor gets jealous of the fact that Bruce Wayne wins 'Man of the Year' award again and wants to become president, so to ensure he gets the votes, he teams up with Joker and a few other of the franchise's supervillains to ensure this. It's a lot of fun and the interaction between the various characters is really great.

The loyalty to the comics and even references to Tim Burton and Bruce TImm's Batman along with cultural gems like the John WIlliam's theme for Superman playing every time he appears on screen brought out the child in me. They also found a way to implement the lego aspect into the movie; like when Robin's cycle is being destroyed, he repairs it lego style. There's just a lot to love here, especially if you're a lego fan.  Silly, fun, and entertaining. While it feels a bit of a cheat to use video game cut scenes for parts of the film, it's still nicely animated and has an overall decent story. It doesn't take much use of the Lego environment, but it does tone down some of the violence and destruction.

What really makes this movie is the humor, most of which is just done through sheer animation. Batman and Superman's witty remarks, the Joker and Lex's chemistry, the various modes to Two face's coin decision making, Riddler's riddles, Penguin's tendency to make a penguin sound mid-sentence, Robin's constant need to make Batman proud and the random chickens; all these are great, just to name a few. They even recreated Gotham to such a great extent; with Arkham asylum and ACE chemicals showing their faces. The voice actors also do a good job for each character, especially Will Arnet as Batman. Like I said, a lot to love.

This movie's mainly for kids, though, or fans of lego or superheroes, or even better, both. Here's to hoping it brings out the kid in you if you let it.  I must have a little kid inside me screaming to get out because I really enjoyed watching this movie. From it's childish humor to its cliched superhero plot, "Lego Batman: The Movie" is a fun DC Universe team-up film that joins the villains together, as well as the justice league of America. It may not be as incredibly animated as "The Lego Movie" itself, but that is also due to it's much smaller budget and the fact that it was not supposed to be that way. It has pins that fall flat on their faces, but some that actually made me chuckle. There have been much worse animated films than this in the past and that is actually kind of saying something. This little film is short and sweet and I recommend it to any kid who is a fan of any superhero because they are all here. "Lego Batman: The Movie" is good fun!
